Why Volunteer?

Volunteers, like you, are crucial to the over 700 local third sector groups and charities providing valuable services across our communities. They rely on your time, commitment, skills and knowledge so offering even one hour a week can make a real difference. Anyone can volunteer. There are hundreds of opportunities available, and we can help you find the one that’s right for you.

Volunteering matters

Volunteering should be a rewarding experience for both the volunteer and the organisation. It offers a great way to support a cause you care about, meet new people, learn new skills or gain useful experience for work or college. In return, you will know that you are helping make a real difference to the lives of people in your community.

Volunteering shouldn’t just benefit others, it should also offer you something in return. One of the ways this can happen is through accreditation. There are different options open to you, depending on your age and reason for getting involved. To find out more click here.

If you are an organisation, interested in offering accreditation to your volunteering team, we can help. Get in touch with us by emailing volunteering@wdcvs.com or calling 0141 941 0886.
