Community Engagement Sessions โ Review of the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils
West Dunbartonshire Council is continuing its review of the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils and is inviting citizens, Community Councils, community groups, stakeholders and partners to take part in the next stage of engagement.
Community Councils play an important role in local democracy by helping citizens raise local issues, share views and influence decisions affecting their communities. This review provides an opportunity to look at how Community Councils operate in West Dunbartonshire, how they can better represent local areas, and whether any changes are needed to Community Council boundaries.
We are particularly keen to hear views on:
- Who represents you locally in West Dunbartonshire?
- Do you know the remit of your Community Council?
- Would you like to be part of a Community Council in your local community?
- Are the current Community Council boundaries right for your area?
- How can Community Councils better involve citizens, community groups and local stakeholders?
The following drop-in engagement sessions have been arranged. There is no need to book, and people can attend at any point during the session.
