Help Shape the Future of Prostate Cancer Care

Prostate Scotland and Socialudo have been awarded funding through the Macmillan CARE Grants Programme to co-produce something genuinely new for Scotland: a serious game designed to improve equity, cultural responsiveness and shared decision-making in prostate cancer care.

The project responds to a simple but urgent fact: prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer for men in the UK, with 1 in 10 men expected to be diagnosed in their lifetime, rising to 1 in 4 among Black men. Yet access to good information, timely diagnosis and confident, shared decision-making still varies hugely depending on who you are, where you live and the barriers you face. Through this project, men with lived experience of prostate cancer will work side by side with clinicians and professionals to build a serious game that makes these hidden barriers visible, and helps everyone involved in prostate cancer pathways understand, and ultimately improve, the experience of the men going through them.

We can’t think of a better way to launch the project than by bringing our network together to experience what a serious game feels like in practice, and to hear your thoughts on what this new game could and should do. So, we would love you to join us for a free, hands-on session in Stirling this November.
