Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund
The Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults opens for applications on Tuesday 1st September.  The overarching aim of the Fund is to support grassroots, community-based initiatives that promote and develop good mental health and wellbeing and/or mitigate and protect against the impact of distress and mental ill health within the adult population (aged 16 or over). If your organisation is interested in applying, we highly recommend attending one of our online awareness sessions which take place on a Friday and offer guidance prior to applying. Proposed changes to SSSC registration requirements
Registration and regulation of the social services workforce are long-standing elements of Scottish Ministers’ policy to the delivery of public protection. As the independent regulator for the social services workforce in Scotland, it is the role of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) to protect the public by registering and regulating social service workers, setting standards for practice, conduct, training and education. This consultation seeks your views on various proposed changes to registration requirements which will further strengthen the SSSC’s ability to deliver their public protection functions. Find out more and give your views.

Clydebank Neighbourhood Board
AIn 2025 Clydebank was selected to receive £20 million from the UK Government, over the next 10 years, as part of the Plan for Neighbourhoods programme focused on creating thriving places; stronger communities; and empowering local people to take back control.  The resulting ‘Regeneration Plan’ is overseen by a Neighbourhood Board, chaired by Liz Connolly, former Principal of West College Scotland.  Any local third sector organisation interested in knowing more or getting involved with one of the 6 project areas should contact us at info@wdcvs.com for more information.

Fair Funding in Scotland
A new resource outlining the urgent need for Fair Funding for voluntary sector organisations in Scotland has launched. The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) has launched the Fair Funding in Scotland portal on its website, detailing the reality for organisations on the frontlines across government priorities, sector-wide themes, and areas of work. The webpage gives a voice to those who have experienced the consequences of the current funding environment and recognise the vital the need for Fair Funding for organisations across our essential sector. More than 30 organisations have contributed to the online resource, giving their voice and support to SCVO’s Fair Funding proposals. Access it here 

The Volcast Podcast
West Dunbartonshire CVS recently launched its own podcast covering important issues across the Third Sector, Volunteering and Climate Action.

The ‘Volcast Podcast’ has released 5 episodes so far that cover Youth Volunteering, Volunteer Walk Leader, Climate Action Hub, NatureScot and the latest on being a Saltire Ambassador.
