OSCR’s Corporate Strategy 2026-29

The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has today (27th May 2026) published its Corporate Strategy for the period 2026-29.

The strategy sets out how OSCR will regulate and support charities to deliver the services the people of Scotland need.

The strategy contains our four main strategic themes for the next three years:

  1. Driving compliance through proportionate and effective regulation
  2. Supporting the development of a resilient, effective and trusted charity sector through regulation
  3. Continuing to drive efficiency as a public body
  4. Supporting our people

OSCR are the independent regulator and registrar for over 25,000 Scottish charities including community groups, religious charities, schools, universities, grant-giving charities and major care providers.

All charities in Scotland must be registered with OSCR and must meet annual reporting requirements to keep their status. They offer a wide range of guidance and services to support and encourage improvement within the charity sector.
