Volunteers’ Week 1-7 June 2026

Volunteers’ Week returns this year for the 42nd year. From Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June 2026

Running every year since 1984, Volunteers’ Week is a week-long celebration of the incredible difference volunteers make across the UK. Whether you’re hosting an event, giving a simple thank you, or spotlighting volunteer stories, it’s time to start celebrating!

The UK Volunteering Forum said: “Volunteers bring a richness to organisations across the country. There is no better time to recognise the diversity of our volunteers and celebrate the difference that volunteering makes than during Volunteers’ Week. Without volunteers many charities just simply could not function, with so many people giving up their time and going above and beyond. The week is a chance for all of us to show just how vital they are to charities and communities everywhere.”

In West Dunbartonshire, there are thousands who give up their free time to help make a difference in the community. Volunteers are crucial to a wide range of local third sector groups and charities providing valuable services across our communities. They rely on your time, commitment, skills, and knowledge so offering even one hour a week can make a real difference.

Anyone can volunteer. There are hundreds of opportunities available, and we can help you find the one that’s right for you.
