Interested in Volunteering?

Did you know, almost 1 in 3 West Dunbartonshire adults regularly volunteer their time to a local organisation or cause? Our Volunteering team is here to support anyone looking to get involved, as well as groups and organisations looking to recruit volunteer support.

Volunteers, like you, are crucial to the almost 700 local groups and charities providing valuable services across our communities.

They rely on your time, commitment, skills and knowledge so offering even one hour a week can make a real difference.

In return, volunteering offers a great way to support a cause you care about, meet new people, learn new skills or gain useful experience for work or college.

Anyone can volunteer. There are hundreds of opportunities available. If you want to see what is on offer you can use the search buttons here.

Volunteering matters

Shirley

"Volunteering has given me confidence to go out more and overcome my shyness. It’s been an amazing journey for me. I am happy to try new things now where I wouldn’t have been in the past. I was recently talking to someone who said they didn’t have much to fill her time. I was happy to tell her about my volunteering, and I hope she will take the step to get involved too."

Recognition

Volunteering isn’t just about benefiting others, it should also offer the volunteer something in return. There are a number of different certificate options open, depending on your age and reason for getting involved. To find out more click here.

If you are an organisation, interested in offering certification to your volunteering team, we can help. Get in touch with us by emailing volunteering@wdcvs.com or calling 0141 941 0886.
