Climate Action Hub

WDCVS Climate Action Hub is one of the 24 Climate Action Hubs across Scotland, funded by the Scottish Government, whose aim is to empower West Dunbartonshire communities to be more climate aware and deliver their own climate action initiatives. https://www.gov.scot/policies/climate-change/community-led-climate-action/

We know the transition to net zero impacts everyone and transformational change can only happen when communities are involved in developing local solutions so that we can all live in low carbon resilient places. Our aim is to inspire communities and provide knowledge, connections, and practical support.

The Hub has 5 key themes:

  • Energy & Retrofitting
  • Travel & Transport
  • Biodiversity & Greenspaces
  • Food
  • Waste, Re-use & Circular Economy

How we can help:

  • Connect community groups across the area to learn from each other, networking through in-person and online events. See our events calendar.
  • Deliver 1-2-1 support sessions to help your organisation understand its climate impact, have a climate conversation, and develop climate action plans.
  • Signpost and support you to external funding applications.
  • Request a support session here.

Biodiversity Network Meeting - Attendee

"It was an excellent couple of hours spent learning new stuff and breaking down some silos! It’s so easy for people to feel like they’re battling enormous issues all on their own, so it’s always good to be in a room with like minded individuals and groups."
