Organisations come in all shapes and sizes. But with one thing in common – they all rely on their committee members or trustees.
Trustees are volunteers, elected or selected to ensure organisations stay true to their aims and values and operate effectively.
Across West Dunbartonshire almost 3,000 local residents volunteer as a committee members or trustees, each year. For some it’s a way to get involved with an organisation they have a personal interest in the work of. Others get involved as a way to share a particular skill or experience-base they feel an organisation could benefit from such as finance or legal experience.
Being a trustee means being part of a committed team. It also offers the chance to use, renew or develop your skills, while giving something back to your community.
