Glasgow Airport Airspace Consultation

Glasgow Airport has launched a public consultation about proposals to modernise their arrival and departure routes and the surrounding airspace. This forms part of a wider Scottish Airspace Modernisation proposal.

The UK’s airspace is being upgraded as part of the UK Government’s Airspace Modernisation Strategy. Scottish Airspace Modernisation is a coordinated programme of three Airspace Change Proposals (ACPs) from Glasgow Airport, Edinburgh Airport and NATS, with the shared aim of delivering quicker, quieter, more resilient and environmentally cleaner journeys to meet the aim of the Government’s Strategy.

This consultation

The Airspace Change Proposal (ACP) aims to modernise the airspace and to support the widespread introduction of new routes based on Performance-Based Navigation, to meet the vision and objectives of the Airspace Modernisation Strategy (AMS). The proposal also reviews the existing Controlled Airspace structure (CAS) boundaries and classifications to ensure that the future CAS is fit for purpose, based on the proposed routes.

The consultation will run for 14 weeks from Monday 20 October 2025 – Sunday 25 January 2026, and we hope you can take part and share your views.
