On Your Doorstep – Campaign

Volunteering is vital to daily life in West Dunbartonshire. It fosters strong social bonds, helps address local needs, and empowers people to make a tangible difference, and develop new skills. A new volunteering campaign from West Dunbartonshire CVS sets out to make it easier than ever for local people to volunteer in their own communities.

The On Your Doorstep campaign features an interactive opportunity map, pinpointing the range of different types of volunteering across the authority. It is supported by a programme of outreach information sessions to help people sign up and get involved.

Kathleen McCulloch, Volunteer Centre Lead said, “We know there are a lot of myths about volunteering. One is that you usually have to travel to get involved, so this campaign sets out to disprove that and shows the many opportunities that exist in every community. The organisations featured on the map do amazing things and would really benefit from having more volunteers involved in their work.”
