Carers Scotland’s State of Caring survey 2023 is now live!

This is the most comprehensive research into the experience of carers in Scotland and across the UK. Carers Scotland use what unpaid carers tell us to shape our campaigns and make sure carers’ voices are heard by both the Scottish and UK governments.

Last year, over 2,000 carers in Scotland shared their experiences in the survey. This helped Carers Scotland secure new rights for unpaid carers with the Carer’s Leave Act and also provided vital evidence to help them continue to campaign for improvements to financial support for carers through the upcoming new Carer Support Payment, with partners on energy costs faced by carers and in their Carer Poverty Coalition.

But much more still needs to be done to get carers the practical and financial support they need. We know that far too many carers continue to struggle without the support they need.

Carers Scotland want to hear what carers priorities are for the coming year, the challenges they’re facing and what support they need.
